Getting there: Easy Version
There will be a chartered bus (The UNAUSTRALIA bus) from Civic bus interchange (see map below) to the campus on the first day of the conference (9.30 am; 10.00 am), and we will transport you to our evening venues by chartered bus, and then back to Civic, on the first and second days. The rest shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

The following describes how to get to the conference from Civic (Canberra's CBD). Please note that our day venue is always the University of Canberra. For information on how to get to Civic from other part of Canberra, or Australia, please visit the TourismACT website
Day One - Wed. 6 December
Getting to the conference:
There are four options:
1) UNAUSTRALIA BUS
Two chartered busses will leave from platform 3 of the Civic bus interchange. The first bus leaves at 9.30 am, the second at 10.00 am. Buses will be clearly marked 'UNAUSTRALIA'. Travel time is approximately 20 minutes. Please find the location of the bus interchange (n.b. not from the interstate bus terminal) on the map of Civic below.
2) TAXI
Call 13 22 11 or 13 22 27 in Canberra. Ask to be taken to the University of Canberra. Your specific destination is the intersection of Kirinari and College streets, Bruce, which will put you just near building 14, our venue for Larissa Behrendt's opening keynote address, at 10.30 am. NB map of the UC campus below. Allow for 15 minutes drive from Civic.
3) CAR
You are aiming for the University of Canberra, and specifically the intersection of Kirinari and College streets, Bruce (street directory reference: 48 F1). From Northbourne ave, Civic, turn into Barry Drive. Drive along Barry Drive away from Civic, past ANU and then past CSIRO. Barry Drive becomes Belconnen Way. Continue along Belconnen Way till you come to a right hand turn (approx 10 mins from Civic) into Haydon Ave. The turn is located just past a massive new freeway building site, and is signposted for the University of Canberra. Drive along Haydon drive following the curve of the road. After some 2 minutes, turn left into College Street, then take the first right into Kirinari Street, which will put you inside the campus. Our venue for Larissa Behrendt's opening keynote address is Building 14, to your immediate right. (nb Canberra is notoriously difficult to navigate; allow ample time - e.g. 35-40 for your first, and each successive, trip). Please see the map of route to UC below.
4) PUBLIC BUS

Getting to our evening venue and home
1) UNAUSTRALIA BUS
Two chartered busses will leave the University of Canberra at 17.45 for the National Musuem of Australia's Garden of Australian Dreams for the opening of the UNAUSTRALIA on-line gallery of creative works (travel time approx 20 minutes). Busses depart from the intersection of Allawoona street and University North Drive, as per the map of the UC campus below. There will be ample signage. The event is due to start at 18.15. Two buses will depart from the Museum for Civic at the conclusion of the event, at 19.15.

Day Two - Thurs. 7 December
Getting to the conference:
Please note that Klaus Neumann's 'public' lecture will be taking place in public, in Civic, at the intersection of City Walk and Garema Pl, as per the map of Civic below. Dr Neumann will have a lectern and a small P.A. He will speak for some twenty minutes, and then take questions from passers-by. Conference participants will then be directed to the nearby Civic bus interchange, to catch public busses as follows:

Getting to our evening venue and home:
1) UNAUSTRALIA BUS
Two chartered busses will leave the University of Canberra at 17.15 for the Australian Parliament House for Professor Ranciere's Keynote address, and the subsequent UNAUSTRALIA cocktail party. Busses depart, as on Wednesday,from the intersection of Allawoona street and University North Drive, as per the map of the UC campus below. The event is due to start at 18.00 (for 18.15). A bus will depart from Parliament House for Civic shortly after the conclusion of the Professor Rancière's keynote , at 19.30. A second bus will depart from Parliament House for Civic shortly after the conclusion of the cocktail party, at 21.00.

Day Three - Friday 7 December
